Nicki Minaj Fires Shots at Jay-Z & Shannon Sharpe on Lil Wayne’s “Banned From NO” Remix

Nicki Minaj has bars for Jay-Z and Shannon Sharpe as she reunites with Lil Wayne for The Carter VI. On Tuesday evening (June 10), the Queen of the Barbz surprised her fans with the drop of the remix to Lil Wayne’s “Banned From NO.”

Nicki tips her crown to Lil Wayne mid-verse, echoing one of his most iconic bars from the Pharrell-produced “Yes.” She raps, “Weezy F Baby and the F is for Phenomenal,” mimicking the legendary line with her signature flair—bridging past and present with a nod only Young Money fans could fully appreciate.

Taking the time to diss Shannon Sharpe, Minaj raps, “‘Bout to cop you slides, all you do is flip-flop, if I send a pic of Shannon, you ain’t that Sharpe.”

Minaj explained her Sharpe diss, cautioning that Chad Ochocinco nearly caught a stray on social media.

“If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain’t that sharp!!!!” Nicki tweeted. “Yeah nigga you thought I forgot that “Nicki who” shit you did? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO j/k. Ochocinco almost caught a strizzy just by being around yo crazy tail self.”

But before ending the verse, Nicki Minaj fires one last shot—this time at the Jay-Z and the NFL. Still unhappy over the league’s decision to pass over Lil Wayne for the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show in his hometown, she delivers a scathing line: “NFL, fire some n****s and then call us.” It’s a defiant defense of Wayne and a call-out of the NFL’s neglect of local legends.

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter VI dropped on Friday, June 6, packing 19 tracks with appearances from Kodak Black, Machine Gun Kelly, Bono, BigXthaPlug, Jelly Roll, and Big Sean. While the album flexes a diverse guest list, the “Banned From NO (Remix)” quickly became the standout moment for fans craving a Nicki-Wayne reunion.

This marks their first collaboration since 2023’s “RNB,” featured on Minaj’s Pink Friday 2. A year later, they’re still proving why their lyrical partnership remains one of rap’s most explosive duos.

Charlie Puth Just Gave a Reminder of How the National Anthem Should Be Sung

The national anthem has become a strange battleground in modern pop culture. Every performance seems to fall into one of two traps: either it’s overstuffed with vocal gymnastics meant to go viral, or it’s delivered so cautiously that it barely leaves a mark. Charlie Puth’s recent rendition cut cleanly through both extremes—and in doing so, quietly set a new bar. Puth didn’t treat the anthem like a flex. He treated it like a song. That alone made his performance stand out. From the first note,
