Kamala Harris says she’s still ‘Undecided’ about another Presidential Run

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is keeping her political future open, but she isn’t ready to announce another presidential campaign.

During a recent appearance on Keke Palmer’s podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, Harris addressed speculation surrounding a potential 2028 presidential bid. The conversation, released Tuesday, Oct. 13, covered life after the White House, voting rights and the upcoming midterm elections.

As the interview wrapped up, Palmer asked Harris the question many Americans have been wondering: Will she run for president again?

Harris initially laughed at the question before admitting she had not reached a decision.

“I haven’t decided yet. I will, I promise,” Harris said.

However, the former vice president quickly redirected the conversation toward the November elections.

“But the midterms, the midterms, the midterms. ’28 doesn’t matter if we don’t do ’26 right. What’s right in front of us.”

Her response left the possibility of another White House campaign on the table. It also reinforced her position that Democrats must prioritize the immediate political landscape.

Harris Focuses on the 2026 Midterm Elections

Although Harris has not announced her next political move, she has remained active within the Democratic Party.

Since losing the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump, Harris has continued advocating for voting rights and Democratic candidates nationwide.

During her conversation with Palmer, Harris discussed the importance of electing lawmakers who will address issues affecting everyday Americans.

She specifically highlighted concerns surrounding health care, housing affordability and cuts to federal programs. Harris also encouraged Black voters to demand accountability from elected officials rather than viewing voting as simply a civic obligation.

Her comments come as Democrats prepare for the Nov. 3 midterm elections, which will determine control of Congress.

According to The Associated Press, Harris has been campaigning for Democratic candidates in several politically significant states, including Michigan, Nevada and Georgia.

Those appearances have also attracted attention because the states could play important roles in the 2028 presidential election.

While her continued campaigning has fueled speculation, Harris maintains that helping Democrats win in November remains her priority.

Could Harris Make Another Run for the White House?

Harris’ political future has remained a topic of discussion since she left office in January 2025.

In 2024, she made history as the first Black woman and first Asian American woman to lead a major party’s presidential ticket.

Her campaign followed President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the race, leaving Harris with a shortened campaign period.

Despite her historic candidacy, Trump ultimately secured the presidency.

Now, questions remain about whether Harris will seek the Democratic nomination again or pursue a different role in politics. A September report from Axios suggested that several former Harris advisers believe she may ultimately decide against another campaign.

Of eight former aides and advisers surveyed, five believed she was unlikely to run. Two were uncertain, while one expected another presidential bid.

Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, has privately expressed concerns about another campaign.

The report cited the personal toll of the 2024 election, although Emhoff is expected to support Harris if she runs.

For now, Harris has offered no timeline for making her decision.

Her exchange with Palmer suggests she is not closing the door on another presidential campaign. However, she wants voters focused on the election directly ahead of them.
