Joy Taylor Launches The Daily Play with Joy Taylor Podcast

Joy Taylor is back with a new sports podcast.

The noted sports broadcaster is launchingThe Daily Play with Joy Taylor with Urban One.

According to the press release, “the new short-form sports commentary series will be distributed across the company’s audio platforms: Radio One, REACH Media, and the Urban One Podcast Network.”

Full-length audio episodes of the show will be available on all major platforms—including the Urban One Podcast Network, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. Also, a “virtual video layer” for YouTube and social media.

In a statement, Taylor spoke about the vision of the show.

“I wanted to create something fast, focused, and always authentic,” Taylor said. “Sports fans are busy, but they want the context behind the conversation. With ‘The Daily Play,’ I’m giving them what it means and what to watch next—in just a few minutes. Joining Urban One allows me to talk directly to a loyal, engaged audience across the country. I’m excited to get back to my radio roots!”

Dre Smith, Sr. Director, Podcast Operations, also lauded Taylor for her track record.

“We aren’t just launching a podcast; we are bringing one of the most insightful voices in sports to a national stage,” said Smith. “Joy’s addition represents a shift in how we deliver daily sports content. She has an unmatched ability to connect culture and competition. And by integrating Joy across Urban One’s audio ecosystem, we are making ‘The Daily Play’ an essential part of the sports fan’s daily routine.”

After building a strong foundation in Miami radio as the co-host of the top-rated Zaslow and Joy Show, she rose to national prominence at FS1 as the inaugural moderator for Skip and Shannon: Undisputed. Later, she was the news anchor for The Herd with Colin Cowherd. In 2022, she transitioned to a lead hosting role on Speak. Beyond the studio, Taylor has covered major sports events, including the Super Bowl and the NBA Finals.
