Dame Dash Says He Wants No Part of JAY-Z’s Super Bowl LXI Plans

Dame Dash is making it clear that he will not be in attendance when his former business partner, Jay-Z, takes the stage for the Super Bowl LXI halftime show next year.

In a candid interview with “The Art of Dialogue,” Dash stated he has no interest in a reunion at SoFi Stadium, even going as far as to warn the hip-hop mogul not to reach out with an invitation. Dash, who co-founded the legendary Roc-A-Fella label alongside Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, was vocal about his lack of enthusiasm for the upcoming performance. “I’m not going.

Don’t even call me for the Super Bowl,” Dash said during the interview. He added that he has zero desire to participate in or witness the event, which is scheduled to take place on February 14, 2027. While Jay-Z has yet to announce his guest lineup, Dash predicted that the rapper will almost certainly be joined by his wife, Beyoncé.

However, Dash expressed skepticism regarding whether the performance can live up to the high standards set by previous halftime shows. Specifically, he referenced Dr. Dre’s 2022 performance, which brought together a heavy-hitting roster including Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar.

Dash questioned if Jay-Z could command the stage with the same impact, noting that Dr. Dre “brought out the whole team” to ensure a successful spectacle. The executive also speculated that the upcoming show could serve as a defining moment for Jay-Z’s legacy, suggesting that a lackluster performance might negatively influence how the public perceives the mogul’s current cultural relevance.

The critique extended beyond the Super Bowl stage as Dash compared Jay-Z’s live draw to that of Kanye West. Dash argued that West has demonstrated an ability to sell out stadium venues through raw fan enthusiasm, whereas he believes Jay-Z relies more heavily on corporate backing.

He noted a perceived difference in audience energy, suggesting that West’s recent performances have outshined Jay-Z’s recent appearances. Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has played a pivotal role in producing the NFL’s annual halftime show since 2019, but this will mark the first time the “4:44” rapper headlines the event himself.

Despite the tension from Dash, the announcement has generated significant buzz within the music industry as fans wait to see which collaborators will join the Brooklyn native on stage in Inglewood.

For Dash, the stance appears to be a continuation of a long-standing rift between the two former partners.
