SZA Kicks Off Countdown to New Album: "The Clock Starts Now"

SZA celebrated the two-year anniversary of her groundbreaking album SOS by sharing an exciting update on the highly anticipated deluxe edition of the 2022 project. In a video posted to Instagram on Monday (December 9), the singer is seen squatting in the woods while a track featuring a sample of The Isley Brothers’ “Voyage To Atlantis” plays in the background. The clip concludes with the title Lana appearing above the words SOS Deluxe, accompanied by the caption: “Clock starts now. Happy anniversary.”

The distinction between Lana and SOS Deluxe has been a point of confusion for fans and SZA alike. Back in March, she clarified that the two were separate projects, explaining that while Lana was still in progress, the deluxe edition of SOS—featuring leaks and outtakes—was set to drop "ASAP." However, the promised release was delayed, and the latest teaser hints that the projects may now be merged into one.

In a recent conversation with streamer Kai Cenat, SZA referred to Lana as “a whole new project” that audiences have yet to experience, adding that it would be released before the end of the year. While a firm release date has not yet been announced, the teaser has only heightened anticipation among her fans.
