Randy Moss Steps Away from ESPN Role Amid Health Battle, Fans Rally in Support

Prior to Week 13’s episode of ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, legendary wide receiver Randy Moss shared a personal update, revealing that he and his family are facing a significant internal health challenge.

Fans had expressed concern during a previous broadcast when they noticed Moss's eyes appeared yellow. Addressing the speculation, Moss took to Instagram to disclose that he is dealing with an undisclosed health condition. While he refrained from sharing specifics, he asked for prayers and urged men to prioritize regular health checkups and bloodwork.

“Throughout the week of the holidays, your boy has been battling something internally,” Moss shared in an emotional Instagram post. “I just ask all the prayer warriors to put their blessed hands on me and my family through these hard times.”

He further addressed the chatter about his appearance, saying, “People were talking about my eyes last week. I’m here, and if you see these [sunglasses] on Sunday NFL Countdown, Adam Schefter calls them the Michigan turnover glasses they sent from Ohio. I just let it go with these. Like I said, I’m battling something, man. It’s internal, but your boy’s going to get through it. I’ve got a great team of doctors and a great family around me. To all the men out there: get your checkups and your blood work done.”

A few days after his message, ESPN announced that Moss would take an extended leave from Sunday NFL Countdownto focus on his health.
