Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man is back in action in the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, hits theaters this summer and marks Holland’s fourth solo outing as the web-flinging superhero.

The results are in: With 718.6 million views, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially the most-viewed trailer in 24 hours.

The trailer, which arrived on Wednesday, shattered the record after just eight hours of being posted, with its 373 million views beating Deadpool and Wolverine, which previously held the record at 365 million views.

The Brand New Day trailer arrived a year after Holland revealed his costume online, and his last time playing Spider-Man since 2021’s No Way Home, which featured cameos from past Spider-Man films, including stars Tobey McGuire and Andrew Garfield. Production for the fourth film was briefly paused after Holland was injured on set and suffered a mild concussion.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, arrives in theaters on July 31. In addition to Holland, it also stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo (returning as Bruce Banner/the Incredible Hulk), Michael Mando (Mac Gargan/Scorpion), and Jon Bernthal (the Punisher). Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman also star.

In October 2024, during an interview with the Rich Roll podcast, Holland teased the upcoming sequel while it was in the scripting stage. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect,’” he said. “But there’s a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it’s exciting, and I’m really excited about it.”
