Rihanna Hints There’s 170 Unreleased Songs In ‘R9’ Music Vault

Rihanna just sent her fans into a frenzy over the latest update about her long-awaited R9album, mentioning she has 170 unreleased songs at Fenty Beauty event.

The pop icon, 38, sparked fresh excitement around her ninth studio album, R9, during a Fenty Beauty TikTok Shop livestream.

Rihanna was asked how much unreleased music she has stored away. Instead of providing a direct answer, she compared her music vault to Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb Vault.

“If there are 10 products in the Gloss Bomb Vault, then I have at least 17 vaults,” she said.

The comparison quickly inspired some simple math. Seventeen vaults containing 10 items each would equal 170.

Rihanna did not explicitly say she has 170 unreleased songs. Still, her answer suggested she has a sizable collection of unreleased music.

For fans, the playful revelation offers another reason to keep hoping for R9. The album would be Rihanna’s first studio project since Anti arrived in January 2016.

Nearly a decade later, anticipation for her musical return remains strong. During that time, Rihanna expanded her Fenty Beauty empire and welcomed children with A$AP Rocky.

She has also offered occasional updates about her next album. Earlier, Rihanna said she had finally “cracked the code” on the long-awaited project.

That comment suggested she had found a creative direction that satisfied her after years of work. However, she has not announced an official release date.

A$AP Rocky provided another update more recently. He said Rihanna was back in the studio, further fueling speculation about when R9 could arrive.

Rihanna has remained careful about revealing details surrounding the album. She has not confirmed its tracklist, release date or the number of songs.

Still, her latest comment gives fans another tantalizing glimpse behind the curtain.

Whether the singer truly has 170 unreleased songs remains unclear. Her “17 vaults” remark was clearly playful.

But for the Navy, even a joke about hundreds of songs is enough to reignite excitement.

After years of waiting, Rihanna may have just reminded everyone how much music could still be coming.
