Rick Ross speaks out after he went viral for flying commercial

Rick Ross is firing back at social media critics after a viral video captured the “Biggest Boss” boarding a commercial Frontier Airlines flight. The footage, which circulated widely across social media platforms, prompted questions regarding the status of the rapper’s luxury lifestyle and his customized private jet.

Ross took to his Instagram Stories to address the situation directly, informing his followers that his absence from the private skies is temporary. He explained that his personal aircraft is currently undergoing significant upgrades, including the installation of a high-end satellite internet system. “For the ones who want to know where my jet at, obviously didn’t get the memo it’s being updated with StarLink,” Ross said in the video.

The rapper described the service as “half-a-million dollar wi-fi” and noted that he was more than willing to choose commercial travel to attend a celebration in Colombia with fellow artists Trick Daddy and Ball Greezy.

Ross remained defiant in his response, suggesting that his choice to fly commercial is often a matter of logistics or family priority. He said that if he needed to send his private jet to pick up his mother, he would gladly fly economy himself to ensure her comfort.

The rapper’s private aviation history has been rocky recently. In 2024, his jet made headlines after a crash landing in Dallas, an incident Ross jokingly attributed to Drake’s “interference” at the height of their lyrical battle. Despite the setback, the Miami native insisted he had an “amazing time” on his recent trip and told detractors to focus on their own affairs. Closing out his remarks, Ross teased the idea of expanding his footprint at his home base.

He said that since his commercial travel had become such a major talking point, he might consider purchasing an entire wing at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to accommodate his needs. The “Aston Martin Music” artist continues to promote his “Biggest of All Time” persona, recently rebranding himself with the acronym BOAT.
