PinkPantheress has made BRIT Awards history, becoming the first woman and the youngest artist ever to be named Producer of the Year. The 24‑year‑old British singer‑producer was announced as this year’s recipient ahead of Saturday’s ceremony, breaking a run of winners that has been exclusively male since the prize was created in 1977.
The award recognizes her work across 2025, including her mixtape Fancy That and its remix companion Fancy Some More?, which built on the UK garage, drum & bass and pop blend she’s honed since first uploading lo‑fi tracks from her university dorm.
In a statement, PinkPantheress called it “bittersweet” to be the first woman to receive the honor and said she hopes the win encourages more women to pursue production, which she describes as the part of her career she’s proudest of. Industry figures have framed the decision as both overdue and significant, noting that only one producer of color, Inflo, had taken the prize before and that previous honorees have included names like George Martin, Calvin Harris, Fred Again.. and AG Cook.

BRITs committee chair Stacey Tang praised her as a precise, playful and “boundary‑expanding” voice in British pop who is quietly reshaping what modern mainstream music can sound like.
The win caps a rapid rise that has seen PinkPantheress notch more than a billion streams, a global hit with “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2,” a Mercury Prize‑nominated top‑10 mixtape and the BBC Sound of 2022 crown, all off a production style she largely built herself on GarageBand.
She heads into the BRITs also nominated for Artist of the Year and Best Dance Act, positioning her as one of the night’s central figures as the show tries to spotlight a new generation of homegrown talent.
