The way people create and search for content on the internet has been altered by artificial intelligence, but it appears that Meta may have another application for the technology.

The Mark Zuckerberg-led corporation may introduce AI bots on social media sites like Facebook and Instagram, according to a recent Financial Times report.

According to the article, the business will launch a number of new AI products, such as one that enables users to build AI characters on Facebook and Instagram, in an effort to draw in younger consumers and keep its current user base.

They "expect these AIs to actually, over time, exist on our platforms, kind of in the same way that accounts do," Connor Hayes, Meta's generative AI vice-president of product, told the outlet.

He continued by saying that these AI bots will have bios and profile images, just like our accounts, and they will even be able to create and distribute AI-powered content. It comes out that Meta will use AI Studio to create the AI-generated characters.

For those who are unaware, Meta's AI Studio enables users to design an AI extension of themselves as well as an AI character based on their hobbies.

Although the product is only available in the US right now, Meta intends to increase its availability later this year. There are certain benefits to the choice, even though most social media users would not agree with it.

For instance, if someone posts misleading material on Facebook, an AI bot may assist in flagging it and alerting others to the misinformation. But it's also possible that the opposite is true.
