Kevin Durant To Release His 19th Signature Shoe ‘Slim Reaper’ With Nike

After almost 20 years of being in the league, Kevin Durant has officially unveiled Nike KD19, his 19th signature shoe with the brand. The “Slim Reaper,” which Durant debuted on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, marks a bold technical pivot for the future Hall of Famer.

Drawing visual inspiration from the 2001 Nike Zoom Hyperflight II, the KD19 features a striking dual-injection molded TPU upper that creates a distinct “dagger” shape—a nod to Durant’s clinical scoring ability.

When it comes to performance, the KD19 features the fan-favorite full-length Zoom Strobel cushioning system paired with a new Cushlon 3.0 midsole, striking a balance between elite responsiveness and the “smooth” court feel that has defined Durant’s signature line.

Additionally, tongue offers peak breathability and features a combination of his 35 and 7 jersey numbers on the outsole, rounding out the silhouette.

Ross Klein, VP, Creative Director, Nike Basketball, shared his excitement about the release of the KD19.

“Across basketball, few players are as smooth or as dangerous from anywhere on the court as Kevin Durant,” says Ross Klein, VP, Creative Director, Nike Basketball. “The KD19 embodies that edge: visually distinct, built for instant responsiveness and all-game comfort, helping players get to any spot and knock down any shot.”

At age 37, Kevin Durant is defying the traditional aging curve, putting together another masterful campaign in his first full season with the Houston Rockets. Averaging roughly 26.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists through 62 games, Durant has seamlessly integrated his elite shot-making into a young Houston core, shooting over 51% from the field and a lethal 40.5% from deep. He was named to his 16th All-Star team. Durant also became just the sixth player in NBA history to reach the 32,000 career points milestone.

The Nike KD19, first unveiled on-court March 16, will be available June 13 exclusively on SNKRS before launching globally June 17.
