Kanye West Critiques Kendrick Lamar’s Music Choice Despite Acknowledging His Skills In a recent revelation, controversial American rapper Kanye West expressed his distaste for the music of his contemporary, Kendrick Lamar.

While he recognizes Lamar as a talented rapper, he clarified that he does not enjoy listening to his work.

I DONT LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM — ye (@kanyewest) March 14, 2025

On his X account, West voiced his displeasure regarding Lamar’s collaboration on Playboi Carti’s latest album, “I Am Music.” He remarked, “I don’t like Kendrick Lamar’s music. He raps very well, but I didn’t feel it was necessary to hear him on Carti’s album.”

This isn’t the first time West has made headlines for his opinions on fellow artists. Last year, he criticized J. Cole after the rapper issued an apology to Kendrick Lamar for a diss track.

During his performance at the 2024 Dreamville Festival, J. Cole regretted his previous actions, stating that apologizing was the “lamest sh*t” he had ever done. West chimed in, asserting that J. Cole’s apology to Lamar was misguided.

Kanye West’s candid opinions continue to stir discussions, showcasing the intricate dynamics within the hip-hop community.
