Jaylen Brown Traded To The Philadelphia 76ers In A Massive Deal

Jaylen Brown is taking his talents to the “City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection.”

ESPN reported that the Boston Celtics are sending Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George in a blockbuster trade. Also, Celects are getting two first-round picks (2028, 2031) and two second-round selections (2028, 2030). The shocking trade has reverberated throughout the NBA.

Brown will now form a new “Big 3” alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

In recent weeks, Brown’s tenure in Boston appeared increasingly precarious. The Celtics had actively tried to package him alongside two unprotected first-round draft picks in an offer to the Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo; however, Milwaukee ultimately declined, choosing instead to pivot to a trade deal with Miami.

BROWN’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS A CELTIC

Brown’s ultra-successful 10-year tenure with the Boston Celtics comes to a close. He leaves behind a legacy defined by championship pedigree and winning at the highest level. Drafted third overall in 2016, Brown evolved from an athletic, raw prospect into a franchise cornerstone. He was a foundational half of the “Jays” duo alongside Jayson Tatum.

Over a decade in green, Brown anchored a golden era of Celtics basketball that featured six Eastern Conference Finals appearances, two trips to the NBA Finals, and a championship in 2024.

Dominating the postseason with his elite two-way play, Brown won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and the 2024 NBA Finals MVP. He averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game in the 4–1 series victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Brown has more combined regular-season and playoff victories than any individual player in the entire league over that span.

In her career, Brown is a  five-time NBA All-Star (2021, 2023–2026) and a two-time All-NBA Second Team selection (2023, 2026). Last season, he averaged a career-high 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game to finish as the league’s fourth-leading scorer.
