After a decade-long hiatus from the recording studio, singer and actress Hilary Duff has officially announced her return to music.
Duff’s return to music was confirmed on Tuesday by the record label Atlantic Records, which welcomed the 37-year-old star to its roster in an Instagram post.
‘Wake up @hilaryduff is officially a part of the AMG family. We could not be more excited for this journey and for new music … or something,” the label wrote.
Duff also announced an upcoming docuseries titled ‘Because That’s What Dreams Are Made Of’.
The project will be directed by Sam Wrench, the filmmaker behind the blockbuster ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ concert film.
The series promises to follow Duff’s journey as she re-enters the studio while navigating the demands of her family life.
Duff rose to fame in the early 2000s as the star of Disney Channel’s hit series ‘Lizzie McGuire’, which made her a teen icon.
In 2002, she released her debut studio album ‘Santa Claus Lane’. However, it was her 2003 album ‘Metamorphosis’ that launched her into pop stardom, selling over five million copies in the United States.
She released four more albums — ‘Hilary Duffy’ (2004), ‘Dignity’ (2007) and ‘Breathe In, Breathe Out’ (2015) — before her music hiatus.
Duff also built a successful acting career with films such as ‘A Cinderella Story’ and ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’.
