Gunna made headlines in Los Angeles on September 22 when he told fans that a joint album with Offset is officially happening. The revelation came during Apple Music’s One Night Only showcase, where the Atlanta rapper mixed live performance with personal conversation.

Speaking during a Q&A moderated by Ebro Darden, Gunna explained why his bond with Offset works so seamlessly. “First, shout out Offset, ’cause he’s from the town, he’s from Atlanta, first off. And then when we work it’s organic, it’s not forced,” he said. He described the atmosphere of their recording sessions with excitement. “So when we get together… it’s fun. We’re having a good time. He come with the beats, I might come with some beats, Turbo come in and then, we just collaborators, as always… I think, like, we actually, like… put that battery in each other back when we in that studio too. So that’s why the music sound how it sound, too. We pushing each other.”

When asked directly about the possibility of an album together, Gunna was clear. “Definitely. Definitely. Yes. And it’s in the works, but like, we spacing it out. You know, he dropped this album. I dropped my album. I was on his. He was on mine, and I feel like that was sprinkles and breadcrumbs for us to get that meal soon.”

The chemistry between the two has already been proven. Their catalog includes Offset’s “Different Species” with Gunna, Gunna’s “at my purest” featuring Offset, and the 2024 collaborations “prada dem” and “Style Rare.”

The evening also highlighted Gunna’s own artistry. Backed by a live band, he ran through songs such as “cfwm,” “just say dat,” “forever be mine,” and “won’t stop,” giving the crowd a showcase of The Last Wun, his final project with YSL.
