Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Drastic Transformation Sparks Health Concerns

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has always been known for his towering frame and powerful build, but his latest public appearance has left fans stunned—and a little worried.

At the 2025 Venice Film Festival, Johnson debuted a dramatically slimmer physique while promoting his upcoming film The Smashing Machine, where he plays legendary MMA fighter Mark Kerr. The difference was striking. Having reportedly lost around 60 pounds to embody the role, Johnson appeared leaner than fans had ever seen him.

Social media lit up almost instantly. Some praised his dedication to the craft, while others voiced concern, with comments ranging from admiration to alarm: “He looks unrecognizable” read one comment. “The Rock became The Pebble” joked another. A few even joked that he looked “AI-generated” in photos circulating online.
The transformation wasn’t arbitrary. To accurately portray Kerr, Johnson had to shed his trademark bulk and take on a more realistic fighter’s physique. But there may have been other factors at play. In early 2024, Johnson opened up about long-standing digestive health struggles and his decision to pursue treatment—something that could also have contributed to his changed appearance.

If the Venice premiere was any indication, the gamble is paying off. The film received a 15-minute standing ovation, leaving Johnson visibly emotional. Critics and audiences alike are already whispering about potential awards season recognition.

The US House votes to overturn Trump's tariffs on Canada

The US House of Representatives has voted to rescind US President Donald Trump's tariffs on Canadian goods. In a 219 to 211 vote, six Republican lawmakers joined Democrats to back a resolution that seeks to end the tariffs Trump imposed on Canada last year.  The vote is largely symbolic as it will still need to be approved by the US Senate and then approved by Trump, who is very unlikely to sign it into law.  Since his re-election, Donald Trump has imposed a series of tariffs on Canada, recen
