A new rumor about the status of the future of Black Panther in the MCU hints that a new actor could be filming for multiple movies in the near future.

What is the latest Black Panther rumor?

According to a new rumor from insider Louai Turkmani, as well as The Geeky Cast podcast, Snowfall actor Damson Idris has been at Nashville, Tennessee’s Pinewood Studios, and will be “spending a lot of time” there, as he is reportedly set to film parts for various movies as the new Black Panther.

According to the rumor, Idris could be filming potential appearances for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, and the upcoming third Black Panther movie. Of course, while Idris’ status as the next Black Panther has been rumored for some time, no concrete information about his part in the MCU has come to light just yet.

Rumors regarding the future of Black Panther in the MCU have been running rampant for some time. Last year, Jeff Sneider of The InSneider said he believes he knows Marvel Studios has already eyed select actors to play T’Challa, the role formerly played by the late Chadwick Boseman.

At the time, Sneider noted he doesn’t believe that Damson Idris, a popular choice amongst fans, will be given the role, but instead believes the guy who could end up getting the role is David Jonsson, who starred in Alien: Romulus and is set to star in the upcoming The Longest Walk. Since then, though, no other rumors have popped up, with Idris remaining the most popular choice amongst fans should the role be recast.

It is known that Shuri/Black Panther star Letitia Wright will be in Avengers: Doomsday, which arrives on December 18, 2026. Winston Duke’s M’Baku and Tenoch Huerta Mejía’s Namor, the latter of whom was the main villain of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will also star in the film, as well a number of past Marvel stars.

Netflix Wants Sports Nights, Not Seasons

Netflix Wants Sports Nights, Not Seasons

If you zoom out, Netflix’s push into live sports looks less like a pivot into 24/7 broadcasting and more like a controlled move into a few big nights a year. A piece from WARC, Why Netflix sees live events rather than conventional sport as its future, frames these NFL and WWE deals as part of a broader “events, not seasons” strategy.
