The Kansas City Chiefs are one victory away from achieving an unprecedented NFL 'three-peat' following their triumph over the Buffalo Bills, which secured their place in Super Bowl 59.

In a thrilling contest, the Chiefs narrowly defeated the Bills with a score of 32-29, making them the first team in history to return to the Super Bowl after winning back-to-back championships.

This marks the fifth occasion in six years that Kansas City has advanced to the NFL championship game, having claimed victory in three of the last five.

They are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on February 9, in a rematch of Super Bowl 57.

The Eagles entered the Conference Championship games as slight favorites to win this year's Super Bowl and achieved a commanding 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders earlier on Sunday.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen is regarded as the slight favorite for this season's Most Valuable Player award; however, the Bills faced the Chiefs in the postseason for the fourth time in five years. Once again, Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes, a two-time season MVP, emerged victorious in a thrilling conclusion to the AFC Championship game.

The visiting Buffalo team held a narrow lead of 22-21 as they entered the fourth quarter, where the outcome of the game hinged on two critical short-yardage plays executed by the Bills. These plays occurred between two impressive touchdown drives and a Chiefs field goal that ultimately proved to be the deciding factor.

On both occasions, Buffalo was unable to convert on fourth down, which allowed the Chiefs' offense to take the field with less than two minutes remaining, positioning them to secure their place in NFL history.
