ASAP Rocky Thinks He’s A “Good Luck Charm” After Knicks’ Historic Win

ASAP Rocky claimed credit for the New York Knicks’ historic comeback victory on Wednesday night, declaring himself the team’s “good luck charm” after they moved within one game of an NBA championship.

The Knicks delivered a stunning 107-106 performance against the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden, overcoming a massive 29-point deficit. The turnaround marked the largest single-game comeback in the history of the NBA Finals.

Following the final buzzer, ASAP Rocky joined a crowd of hyped New Yorkers on the court to celebrate the win, which puts the Knicks ahead 3-1 in the series. The franchise is now just one victory away from its first NBA title in more than five decades. “It’s because of me, I’m the good luck charm!” the Harlem native said during an on-court interview following the game. “I was up there cheering from the box, going crazy. Thank me later.”

The rapper’s presence was part of a star-studded evening at “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” The sidelines were packed with New York royalty and A-list celebrities, including Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan and Nas. Other notable attendees included Taylor Swift, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner and Adam Sandler.

The atmosphere was a sharp contrast to Game 3, where the Knicks suffered a loss while former President Donald Trump was in attendance. Fans and commentators alike noted the change in energy as the Knicks returned to their winning ways on Wednesday. The series began with the Knicks securing two narrow victories at home, including a Game 2 win decided by a single point. After dropping Game 3 to the Spurs, the momentum appeared to shift back to San Antonio before New York’s late-game heroics in Game 4 silenced the skeptics.

However, with the city of New York rallying behind their team and local icons like ASAP Rocky providing vocal support, the Knicks appear to have the momentum. Fans have been particularly invigorated by the team’s resilience this postseason.

Local rapper Fat Joe even took to the subways earlier this month to distribute free Knicks merchandise, though he said some commuters were skeptical of the gesture. The two teams will meet again Friday as the Knicks look to close out the series and end their 50-year championship drought.
