Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander along with fellow MVP finalists Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic have been named to the 2024-25 All-NBA First Team on Friday.

The trio was joined by Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell as the NBA rolled out its best performing players of the season following votes from a global media panel of 100 voters.

Gilgeous-Alexander, who was named NBA MVP earlier in the week for the first time, earned the third All-NBA First Team honour of his seven-year career. He led the league in scoring, averaging a career-best 32.7 points as the Thunder finished with a league-best 68-14 record in the regular season.

Jokic, who finished second in this year’s MVP race, got the seventh All-NBA Team selection of his career and the fifth First Team honour. The Serb enjoyed the best season of his career, having averaged a career-high 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, a career-high 10.2 assists and a career-high 1.8 steals in 70 games during the regular season.

Antetokounmpo, a two-time league MVP, gets his ninth All-NBA Team nod and the seventh First Team selection of his impressive career. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per game this season.

Tatum, meanwhile, earned his fourth consecutive First Team selection, while this marked a maiden All-NBA First Team appearance for Mitchell, who made the Second Team in the 2022-23 season.

The 2024-25 All-NBA Second Team also comprises a star-studded lineup that includes veteran stars and four-time champions Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) and LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), as well as New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, and 2024-25 Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Curry got his 11th All-NBA Team recognition across the First, Second, and Third Teams, while James earned a record-extending 21st All-NBA Team selection, having been named to the First, Second, or Third Team every season since 2004-05.

For Edwards and Brunson, this is their second consecutive Second Team recognition, while Mobley gets his maiden All-NBA Team nod.

The All-NBA Third Team has Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham, Thunder forward Jalen Williams, Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden, and Knicks forward Karl-Anthony Towns.

Cunningham and Williams both earn their first All-NBA Team honours; Haliburton gets his second straight Third Team nod; Harden earns his first All-NBA Team appearance since the 2019-20 season and eighth overall; and Towns makes the Third Team for the third time.
