In a sensational display of skill and determination, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has triumphed over Italy’s Jannik Sinner to win the 2025 US Open men’s singles title.

The 22-year-old claimed his second championship at Flushing Meadows with a thrilling four-set victory (6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4) in a match that captivated fans at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Sunday.

The final marked a historic third consecutive Grand Slam title clash between the top-two ranked players in the world. From the outset, Alcaraz demonstrated his dominance, overpowering the top-seeded Sinner to seize the first set 6-2. The Italian champion fiercely battled back, however, claiming the second set 6-3 to level the match.

Undeterred, Alcaraz rediscovered his explosive form, racing through the third set 6-1 to regain the lead. The fourth set proved to be a tense and hard-fought affair, but Alcaraz ultimately closed it out 6-4 to seal the victory.

This win earns Alcaraz his sixth career Grand Slam trophy, adding the 2025 US Open to a collection that includes Wimbledon (2023, 2024), the French Open (2024, 2025), and his first US Open title from 2022.

Beyond the trophy and the $5,000,000 prize, the victory carries even greater significance: it propels Alcaraz back to the pinnacle of men’s tennis, reclaiming the ATP World No. 1 ranking.

He now leads his storied rivalry with Sinner, holding a 10-5 career head-to-head record and winning seven of their last eight meetings.

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to review whether Americans who regularly use marijuana can legally possess firearms, a case that could further define the boundaries of the Second Amendment and federal drug law. The dispute arises from a Justice Department appeal seeking to revive a prosecution against a Texas man, Ali Danial Hemani, after the Fifth Circuit struck down the federal statute barring gun ownership by unlawful drug users.
