Morocco, playing at home, finished top of their group and then beat Tanzania 1–0 in the round of 16 in Rabat, with forward Ayoub El Kaabi among the players drawing attention for their contributions so far. Senegal progressed with a 3–1 win over Sudan, and Algeria advanced after a strong group campaign in which Riyad Mahrez played a central role in their attack.

Several lower‑ranked teams are still competing. Mozambique recorded its first AFCON win with a 3–2 result against Gabon and moved into a last‑16 tie with Nigeria, while Benin qualified from the group stage to face seven‑time champions Egypt. Cameroon eliminated South Africa 2–1 in a round‑of‑16 match that changed direction after halftime, illustrating how quickly knockout ties can shift.

Overall, the tournament picture features multiple former champions alongside countries that have appeared less frequently in later AFCON rounds, with remaining fixtures expected to determine whether the quarter‑final line‑up is dominated by long‑established powers or includes more lower‑ranked teams. The result immediately reset the 2025 political calendar. Trump’s second administration arrived

Labubu and Moo Deng do not obviously belong together, but they end up in the same place: keeping people watching. One is a sharp‑toothed designer toy from Pop Mart’s blind box machines, the other is a baby pygmy hippo at a Thai zoo whose bath videos travel across feeds in minutes. They sit in different corners of the world—Chinese collectibles and a local animal attraction—but live in the same part of the internet, where niche interests become global habits very quickly.
