50 Cent is adding another chapter to his career with a move into the true-crime genre. The rapper, actor, and producer will headline and executive produce 50 Ways to Catch a Killer, a new six-part series premiering September 16 on Fox Nation.

The series, produced under Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television banner in partnership with Lionsgate Alternative Television, examines murder cases that gripped communities and the investigators determined to solve them. Each installment follows detectives through pivotal breakthroughs, from overlooked clues to long-awaited confessions, as they work to deliver justice. Episodes will roll out weekly following the premiere.

Jackson, who has built his career on intensity and reinvention, said the genre’s real-world stakes made the project especially compelling. “True crime is powerful because it’s real cases, real people, and real justice,” he said in a statement. “With this series, I want viewers to feel the intensity of these investigations and the relentless effort it takes to uncover the truth. We’re bringing these stories to life in a way that’s both gripping and authentic.”

The debut episode, Fake ’Em Out, focuses on the 2017 disappearance of Maryland teacher Laura Wallen. Her sudden absence on the first day of school—and her looming engagement—sparked a frantic investigation that forced authorities to weigh whether it was a missing-person case or a homicide. The emotional story sets the tone for the series, which mixes dramatic stakes with investigative detail.

Fox Nation executives are touting Jackson’s cultural impact as a major draw for viewers. “With his influence and gift for storytelling, he offers a front-row seat to investigations that demand answers,” said Jason Klarman, Fox News Media’s chief digital and marketing officer.

The project extends Jackson’s television résumé beyond scripted drama. After breaking through in music with multi-platinum albums including Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and The Massacre, he found success on screen with Starz’s hit Powerfranchise, which spawned multiple spinoffs under his watch.

With 50 Ways to Catch a Killer, Jackson continues his evolution from rap icon to multifaceted media figure. The series marks his latest bid to bring grit and urgency to television storytelling, this time through the lens of real-life crime.
